A Lifting Engineer calculates working loads and plans lifting strategies and methods according to national and international procedures and regulations, selects slings, shackles and cranes, and identifies potential hazards and risks in the area where lifting takes place.

Lifting activities carry high risk, so they require strong commitment from management, adequate equipment and competent personnel from every party, both the lifting contractor and the project owner.
